Description
Ken Morrish's original mouse pattern combines a broad surface profile with a buoyant foam back and deer-hair body. It is built for trout that take mice and other substantial food from the surface.
Performance
Cast toward likely bank cover or holding lanes, then skate or swim the fly under controlled tension. Small pulses can make it push water while maintaining a steady wake.
Why we use it
The profile is easy for fish to locate on top, and the foam supports a surface presentation through a long swing or retrieve.
Materials
Deer-hair body and foam back.
