Description
John Barr's Copper John is a compact, weighted nymph with a wire abdomen and contrasting wing case. It is a useful trout searching pattern when a small fly needs to sink efficiently.
Performance
Dead-drift it on an indicator or tight-line setup, or use it beneath a suitably buoyant dry fly. The wire body and bead contribute weight without requiring a bulky profile.
Why we use it
It combines a slim shape, color, and flash with enough weight to help establish a subsurface presentation.
Materials
Wire abdomen, bead head, biot tails, and a flash-accented wing case.
