Description

The Woolly Bugger is an impressionistic streamer that can suggest a leech, small baitfish, or other swimming food. Solitude's version is a practical searching fly for trout, bass, and a wide range of freshwater fish.

Performance

Retrieve it with short strips, swing it across a run, or dead-drift it before letting it lift in the current. The marabou tail moves readily at slow speeds.

Why we use it

It is useful when fish are feeding below the surface but are not clearly selecting one insect or baitfish species.

Materials

Marabou tail, chenille body, and palmered hackle.
