Step 1: Get Your Offer
Submit some basic info about your rod or reel and, if your gear meets our needs, you'll get a offer from us within 72 hours. No haggling, no obligation.
Step 2: Ship Your Gear
Ship your gear to us. When we receive it, we'll inspect the item before we fund your Feather-Craft account.
Step 3: Get store credit
Use your store credit towards any new gear in Feather-Craft. You have one year to use the credit and you don't have to use it all at once.
Trade-in program policies

We take fly rods and reels:
1. Complete with original tube, sleeve, and pouch.
2. No custom, modified, or store-brand gear like Cabelas or Bass Pro.
3. Rods with original MSRP over $300; Reels with original MSRP over $200.
4. Gear in working, fishable condition.

- For missing tubes, socks, or reel pouches, or non-original accessories expect the value to decrease by 10%.
- Spare spools are quoted at 25% of the value of the reel.
- Fly lines and/or backing does not impact your quotes.
- Quotes are for the newest model unless stated otherwise.
- Store credit can only be used towards the purchase of new gear. Store credit cannot be used to purchase used gear.

What shipping carrier should I use?
We accept packages from USPS, FedEx, UPS, and DHL. We do not have a preference.
How should I package my rod or reel?
1. Most United States Post Offices have boxes or sturdy poster tubes you can purchase that will fit your rod. Do NOT ship the rod tube without a box.
2. Place the rod pieces in their sleeve and the sleeve in the rod tube.
3. Wrap the rod tube with bubble wrap or paper to protect it. Be sure to provide bubble wrap or paper several inches beyond the end of the rod tube to protect the ends.
4. Place the protected rod tube in your box and fill any space voids with bubble wrap or paper.
5. Seal the box with packaging tape.
6. Test that the rod is secured tightly in the box by shaking the box lightly. If the rod tube doesn't hit the box walls internally when shaken, you are ready to ship.
How long is my offer good for?
30 days from the day you receive your offer via email.
Can I trade a rod for a rod? Or a reel for a reel?
No we do not barter. We only facilitate trade-in transactions through the store credit process.
How long is my store credit good for?
Your store credit expires 1 year from the date it is issued.
How long does it take to get my store credit?
We typically process trade-ins and fund your store credit within 72 hours of receiving your gear.
Can I buy my rod or reel back?
Once we receive your gear and fund your store credit, it will be listed for anyone to purchase.
Can I negotiate your offer?
No, our offers are the best offer we can make and are non-negotiable.
What if my carrier loses my trade-in?
We highly recommend insuring your package for the full value of your gear. Feather-Craft cannot be held liable for a shipping carrier losing an item. Keep your shipping and insurance receipt and contact the carrier.
