Feather Craft Dyed Turkey Rounds provide tough feather-fiber bodies for sizes-12 through 24 fly ties. These dyed fibers deliver durable density and consistent texture for reliable wraps on every tie. For specific builds, use 6/7 fibers for the body on Ed's F-C Crackleback in size-12. For a size-24 F-C Grey-Whispy, one or two fibers are enough. Tie the fibers in by their tip-top ends, all at the same time at the end of the hook shank. Wrap thread forward. Hold the butt-ends of the fibers with fingers, and wrap forward to build the body. We rely on a true-rotary vise; the vise wraps them for me, delivering a clean, uniform body every time. Mix light and dark fibers to create a variegated body.
