Czech Nymphing Hi-Vis Sighters deliver high sensitivity and fast strike detection for European style nymphing. These indicators, also known as Sighters, are designed to be highly visible and easy to watch in the water, helping you notice even the subtlest take. Each Sighter is 12 inches long and hand made in Saint Louis.
There are two ways to use sighters. You can run them straight off the end of your fly line with a loop-to-loop connection followed by the leader, or you can build them into your own simple leader system. A common Czech leader setup uses 36 inches of 20 lb mono connected to an 18 inch or 15 lb mono butt with a uni-jam knot, then a small perfection loop at each end of the butt-section. Attach the Sighter loop-to-loop to the 15 lb end, and connect your tipper up to 4 feet on the opposite end. Keep the overall length of the leader slightly shorter than the rod you are using.
